Rediscovering the Art of Human Connection
Workshop hosted by Rebecca Fishel Bright
This workshop is like none you have ever encountered before, addressing problems you weren’t even aware of.
Since 2020 loneliness has become an epidemic with approximately 1 in 3 adults reportedly experiencing it.
Social isolation and loneliness are associated with increased risks of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, depression, anxiety, and even premature death.
Additionally, the world is changing in ways we cannot understand. For the past 20 – 25 years ever since smart phone and social media became popular and prolific we have moved further and further apart in our connection with others.
We have become cautious and even apprehensive about closely interacting with another person. We almost fear touch and often cannot bring ourselves to make eye contact with another. We hide in our phones and engage only with social media.
This workshop will provide a safe space to explore those feelings, to understand the basis of our reactions, and give us tools to help us address this unhealthy trend. The class will allow us to explore how we react, in both our body and our mind, to the anxiety and fear that keeps us so separate and give tools to help begin to be able to connect in healthy ways.
